OUR STORY

Danielle and Erik met in 2011 in their high school production of the Wizard of Oz, but their connection really began to form during their lunch period. Instead of eating in the cafeteria like their peers, they chose to eat together on the stage with friends from choir. After performing in two musical productions together, Erik and Danielle had built a strong friendship (despite Danielle's crush on him while Erik remained oblivious). As many often do, they lost touch when Erik graduated high school.

Danielle and Erik reconnected many years after high school, where they reminisced on their friendship and filled in the blanks of time. Having connected on a more intimate level, they realized that their friendship was becoming something more. Once Erik completed his Graphic Design degree at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, he started his next journey: moving across the country to Los Angels for his first professional job, while Danielle finished her Masters degree at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

They had two choices: continue being friends, or  give a 2,863 miles and 3 hour time difference, long distance relationship a chance. They chose the latter. While it wasn't always easy, they both put in the time and effort to ensure their relationship continued to grow where each of them felt loved, seen, and heard. Facetime & Netflix Party became a relationship staple.

Many trips to California, and Disneyland, later, COVID-19 shook the world to it's core; and sent Erik back home to New Jersey for good! Danielle and Erik continued their loving relationship and moved into their first apartment together, where they were able to create a warm and welcoming home. But something was missing, specifically two orange crazy fluffy cats. They became cat-parents to Chunk and Tubs, who continue to keep them on their toes. After two years of living together, Erik knew it was time to take the next step. On February 25th, 2024 Erik proposed to Danielle at the High Line in New York City surrounded by her family and best friends.

Danielle and Erik are so excited to continue their journey together. Here's to many more years of love, Disney trips, and late night zoomies from the boys.
